When an agent decides it’s time to look at another brokerage, I see the same mistake almost every time. They line up commission splits, compare fees, and weigh branding against each other. Those things matter, but I don’t think any of them is the most important question. The real one is simpler: who is actually helping me grow my business?

The right broker should make you more money. Not because of a split, but because they help you close more transactions. A good brokerage helps you solve problems faster, connects you with people who challenge you, coaches you when you’re stuck, celebrates your wins, and pushes you when you’re capable of more. That’s a very different thing from a place that just processes paperwork. Your brokerage should be one of the biggest assets in your business.
